The first snowfall of the year always calls for going outside and enjoying it while it's soft and fluffy. Since I told myself (and you) that I wasn't going to sacrifice warmth for style this winter, I had to bundle up substantially for this little outing. This outfit may not look the warmest at first glance (or maybe it does - I can't even count how many times I've been teased by friends for wearing a ridiculous number of layers this winter), but it's got a few secrets hidden inside, namely a cashmere sweater under the cable knit, a pair of tights under my pants, and of course- warm, fuzzy socks wrapped around my feet.
p.s. A little birthday shout out to my oldest and dearest friend, Hilda! Here's to many more years of friendship. xox
Wearing: J.Crew sweater, Zara fur vest, YesStyle coat, 7 For All Mankind pants, random scarf from Venice
Ear muffs and furries - always a good choice for snow days. Have fun!

It's always so nice to see colour against the white of the snow!
ReplyDeleteIt's way too cold in Edmonton right now for me to sacrifice warmth for style though. I'm crossing my fingers for warmer weather next week!
I adore that vest underneath! Wow :)

Oh Jen, this is just too cute! I love the last photo especially! I have also been trying to not have to FREEZE to take outfit photos, but am only half way there - gone are the days of standing in the snow in say, my new year's eve dress, but I'm still ditching my coat & gloves most of the time for the sake of the photo! You have done an amazing job here at looking both cozy and completely adorable! I love this coat on you!! And the fur vest underneath makes it extra cozy looking! Love it!
ReplyDeleteThese photos are adorable Jen! How cold is it there, because where I'm from... it's -50 with the wind shield this morning. :/

Love the outdoor pics (and for sharing how you kept warm!) :)
ReplyDeleteSo cute Jen! I've been bundling up a whole lot lately as well, who says we can't be stylish despite the arctic conditions? ;)
ReplyDeleteP.S. I'm still on the hunt for a faux fur vest, where do you find all of your amazing vests?! Do share!
You're so adept at layering for warmth while still looking sleek and chic. I'm amazed you could wear one sweater under another; I'd feel so lumpy and bumpy if I did it, and I'd probably constantly tug on the sleeves or try to smooth out the underlayer.
ReplyDeleteJeez, only YOU could look so darn cute in the snow! Beautiful mix of textures and colours, you make me actually want to go out in the snow and play :)
ReplyDeleteyou are too cute for words - look at those ear muffs! x

These snow pictures are so cute, Jen! I wish I had the time to play in the snow but unfortunately I'm at work all day and there's no time :( Love the ear muffs... I used to wear those exclusively in the Winter a few years ago.

love the colour combo! i hate wearing bulky layers under winter coats because my shoulders always feel restricted but a cute cozy faux fur vest seems like a good option!

ReplyDeleteLove the earmuffs, so cute! The jacket is perfect too, loving camel these days. You look cozy and chic!

Aw I wish we had this much snow downtown, would love to take some real winter outfit pictures! :-) I love your layered outfit, with the fur peeking out in the 'middle'. And that coat is amazing - the color is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteSoft Purple
Great job layering, what a cute outfit!

These photos are so cute! It is waaaaay to cold outside in Calgary to play in the snow right now. Jealous! lol
ReplyDeleteSo many layers! If I put so this many sweaters, coats and vests on, I would wind up looking like a marshmallow with legs ;) Kudos to you for pulling it off with your ususual style. It looks like your neighbourhood got a lot more snow than ours, and these shots of your playing in it are adorable!

Hurrah for the first snowfall! It snowed for the first time this winter where I live too (although the rain not long after meant I missed out on snow photographs, haha.) I love the different colours in your outfit and it does look quite warmer, even warmer after hearing just how many layers! You bundle up so well (:
ReplyDeleteHow do you get to frolic around in the snow&still look fabulous?! Very nice outfit, I love the color of the coat&scarf together as well (:
ReplyDelete-Tina.
How I miss snow... It hasn't snowed at all here and I envy your country now:)) I love the photos, so sweet and your ear thingies are very lovely! :D
ReplyDeleteKnowing exactly how to layer is where it's at. It's a skill I never learned properly in Detroit. I always put on my crazy parka on top of things and wore leggings under my trousers in the winter and just bundled it up. It was more about being warm and comfy in the crazy cold (yes, it does get much colder in Detroit than Snowcouver).
ReplyDeleteNow in Hawaii, my objective is to find easy ways to stay cool and CHIC without taking hours to get ready (my downfall).
It's not super hot here, but it's not cool, either.
Amazing outfit, my love. As usual. You have layering down to a science.
AlohaXO,
Mae Lu @ thereafterish.
These are such cute photos! I love how cozy your layered outfit looks.
ReplyDeleteYour photos are so fun!
ReplyDeleteLove the outfit also so fabulous for winter!
