Variations on a Theme

I've been pairing earth tones with this orange clutch for what seems like every day as of late: the colour palette is rather fail-safe and provides the perfect canvas for the bright tangerine to really pop! The first look is what I changed into for dinner with the girls after the blogger clothing sale this past weekend (more on that later!) while the second is one of the casual outfits that I was running around in while prepping for the event last week. Do you find yourself dressing in "themes" for periods of time too? Happy Monday!

outfit 1: YesStyle blouse, Forever 21 skirt, Zara shoes, MICHAEL Michael Kors clutch (similar), bfrend (pearl) and Lauren Elan bracelets, vintage belt
outfit 2: Zara sweater and shoes, J Brand jeans, Lauren Elan bracelet

I absolutely love both of your outfits. I love the furry scarf and the outfit has such great earthy tone to it with wonderful pairing with the shoes and skirt. The second outfit is just as lovely with the leopard print detail. The orange bag adds a little zest to both outfits. Well done, love! =)

You've actually inspired me to try this colour combo, since I do have a kind of an orange clutch as well... Although, it's definitely not as beautiful as yours! :o)

Love how the two outfits are similar in color palette, but still look different! You're a master in re-styling items and this orange clutch is no exception. It was lovely to see you at the sale, Jen! And I am so happy with the skirt, already shot an outfit post today with it :-)

Happy Monday xo Leonie

I definitely will dress in the same way for days on end. When you find something that works you have to go for it!! I adore that clutch, too. Such a pretty, happy color

The color palette looks a lot like what we just saw at nyfw for fall, and it is truly gorgeous on you in both looks!! The ladylike dinner look is great, so classic with the fur stole and full skirt.. Love it!!<3shelby

This is beyond stunning Jen! I love both looks but honestly, the belted skirt is just perfection on your stunning figure. Love how tiny it makes your waist look! That bag is one of my faves of yours, hopefully you can pick up lots of beautiful new accessories post-sale now that we all have a bit of extra cash in our pockets :). Can't wait to see you again this week!

This is so cute, Jen! I love the sweater in the casual look so much! & your hair looks so sweet pulled back! And YES, I definitely tend to get on 'kicks' when it comes to dressing... lately it seems to be black, white & neon (as demonstrated today on the blog, and will appear again v. soon!) That clutch was a great buy, it's such a fun color!

There's absolutely nothing wrong with variations on a theme - I was just writing to another blogger on the same subject, and saying how I think it really shows that a person knows what their style is and how to work with it. You definitely have that down. And you wear orange so beautifully!

You're photos are beautiful. I love the orange statement bag. I've been debating weater to get a pink one or orange one myself. You make a good case for tangerine.....

I think I always dress with some sort of theme. Often I do as you mentioned, which is dressing in a particular theme for many days because sometimes it's just easy! Lately I've been on a casual/girly look, as broad as that sounds, haha.
I'd have to agree with what Ian said above. The fact that if you do have themes you run with, it reflects the fact that you know you're style. =)
