I think it's safe to say that style blogging helps to push the boundaries of one's sartorial comfort zone. Pattern mixing, colour blocking and bold lips are trends I might not have embraced so fully had it not been for this blog. However, it still felt a bit daunting to wear this very bright look that my chevron manicure (created by Carmen) inspired me to put together. Aside from a few strange looks, though, it was the perfect mood brightener and an ideal getup for the first sunny day we've had in what seems like weeks.
Be sure to drop by Carmen's blog to find out how to re-create a chevron manicure for yourself!
Wearing: Zara neon sweater and skirt, Forever 21 cardigan, H&M coat, Aldo shoes, MICHAEL Michael Kors clutch, J.Crew necklace, bfrend (black) and Lauren Elan (gold) bracelets (both c/o)

ReplyDeleteNice job with the outfit! Yes, blogging has helped with my fashion sense, as well as my courage to try new things. I'm still not quite brave enough for brights, but warming up to the idea.

this look is stunning, shame on whomever owned those dirty looks tossed your way. neon yellow and red are a classic combination, and the cream skirt provides a nice foundation to the chromatic experiment.

I love the bright colours Jen! I don't think I will ever be able to pull off that awesome of a combo quite yet, but I'm sure the people of Vancouver were in awe of how you well you colour-block!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE your nails, I swear that I'm the worst at trying to re-create nail looks though, so I just stick with my usual plain colours.
Hope you have a lovely weekend xo!
You've worn colors perfectly! Loved the mani, so unique and fun!

Wow so intense and bold! Think I need shades haha
ReplyDeleteEverything about this bright ensemble is so inspiring, but it's that manicure that is absolutely blowing me away! The different patterns on every nail are really something else - my short bare nailsare feeling very sad by comparison.
ReplyDeleteI love your cardi, too. That Chanel-esque chain detail is just lovely :) Hope you're doing well.

Cee
Your outfit must have been really vibrant in person! I love how bold the red colour of your coat is and that you wore it with other colours– with your blue cardigan and neon sweater, it also feels like you've pushed the basics of primary colour mixing to an extreme. Thanks for sharing and I hope you have a lovely end to the week!
ReplyDeletelove all these colours! <3

Gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteI've been seeing bright colour everywhere and I totally love them! I need to get myself some. That yellow colour is my favourite and with the white, black, blue and red, it is perfection! The heels top it off so nicely. You are just the cutest. <3
ReplyDeleteI love the brights. It's sometimes really hard to wear red and yellow together without looking like a sandwich, but you always manage to do unlikely color combinations so well. Always so luxurious and bright. Love it.

Love EVERYTHING about this, down to your polish and bfrend bracelet! You certainly brightened up my day with this post girlie!
ReplyDeleteLove all the colors! www.casualglamorous.com
ReplyDeleteIt's fantastic that you're playing a bit out of your comfort zone (maybe?). I think it's wonderful to see folk wear bright colors. I can't see how it can create a frown, but surely only smiles. This emphasizes for me that I should add more bright colors to my wardrobe. Although I tend to shy away from reds, oranges and yellows. Yellows often wash out my complexion, and the other hues clash with my red hair; at least that's what I've convinced myself, haha.
