Nostalgia

{photos by my oldest girlfriends xo}

There's nothing like a trip to your childhood school to trigger feelings of nostalgia. These photos were taken by two of my oldest girlfriends, at the school where I attended kindergarten to second grade. I didn't meet these girls at the school (I met them at church at around the same time), but they've become like sisters to me. I'm so grateful for friends who will give advice that comes from a genuine intention to help you become a better person and make the right choices, regardless of how much you might not want to hear it.

Wearing: MINKPINK cardigan, H&M shirt (similar), Gap skirt (similar), DV by Dolce Vita loafer flats, BCBGMAXAZRIA headband, Joe Fresh earrings & bracelet, clutch gift from Sharon

Good true friends are definitely hard to come across. Its nice though, when the ones that have always been there stay by your side. I'm loving the color on that skirt, by the way..... :)

This is such a cute outfit! And YES, the MK jewelry I posted about definitely reminds me of our Joe Bracelet (which I seriously wear with everything, such a great Joe find, and it was totally inspired by you... I went hunting for it when I saw you wearing it & it's barely left my wrist since!) Though I would loooove to add an MK piece as well! This is such a cute combination, love that it's both ladylike & casual!

Cute skirt! I love the color, pleats and how it makes a cute bow at the top.

The best thing about having good friends is the fact that you can be completely honest with one another. It's so nice to able to trust someone to tell you how it is, knowing that they're always trying to help.

I love this outfit! The chambray and mustard go great together. And that first picture is beautiful.

Aw this outfit is classic Jen. So simple and pretty, and like always, even when you do casual (like a chambray shirt) it has an element of femininity and dressiness to it.

Good friends are hard to find! It's good that you cherish your friends for what they are.

Friends who tell you what you need to hear, rather than what you want to hear, are so important to have. You're so blessed to have two girls like that in your life! It doesn't hurt that they take beautiful photos, too ;) I love the colour of your skirt, it's just perfect for the fast approaching fall!

Lovely outfit! That skirt is just amazing. I borrowed a friend's skirt that was that same one, and I was quite sad to give it back hehe.

Lasting friendships is a rarity and so valuable. As you get older you start to realize that quality outweighs quantity tremendously, especially when it comes to friendships. So glad that you can still count on those friends of yours from your childhood. My BFF and I have been friends for over 20 years. It's pretty amazing.

Now, I need to go find myself the perfect mustard skirt so that I can copy this look. I really adore it. And I adore that you've now featured my lovely clutch twice. You're such a sweetheart, Jen. <3 ya.

I hope you have the greatest week ever.

I don't have life-long friends from low grades, but I do have some from high school, and more importantly, from college, and from blogging--people I turn to in crisis and happiness. They make me WANT to be better, and inspire me to be with and without words.

Those kinds of people are invaluable, aren't they?
