Blue Bloom

by Jen on Wednesday, April 14, 2010

Finally got a chance to wear my new blue ruffle dress from the H&M Garden Collection today! I initially woke up ready to pull on the dress and head out the door. But when I looked out the window, it was POURING! Gone were my hopes of a breezy spring outfit.

However, I refused to let that get me down (or to change my outfit). So I threw on a winter coat and out the door I went... and lucky for me it cleared up later in the day!

Mackage coats are amazing. I wish I could afford them. The fit is impeccable and the materials are lush (the coats are HEAVY!). And oh, don't get me started on the details! This one was purchased two winters ago for half off because they were discontinuing the style.

Wearing: Mackage coat, H&M Garden Collection dress, label-less scarf, Givenchy necklace, Salvatore Ferragamo belt, Forever 21 tights, Marc by Marc Jacobs flats

It is indeed a lovely dress... I know the feeling when you can't wait to wear it. Love how you styled it with the coat and the scarf and the belt. You look fabulous. xoxo

I love that dress! Great color. I also love the picture location.. I wanted to take pictures by the train tracks last weekend, but it was super windy.. Wind + Blunt Bangs (that only look cute when down) = very unflaterring pictures! hee hee.. Hopefully the wind will die down this weekend. I'm also hoping for sunshiney picnic-ing weather!

I love your dress, and that coat really does have fab details! You totally master the high-low mix. I noticed your necklace is Givenchy and your belt, Ferragamo, and it really makes the H&M and Forever21 pieces look luxe in conjunction. Brava! I always love your outfit posts!

i tried on that dress but it was very unflattering on me :( i was so sad because the color is gorgeous! but you look absolutely divine! i love how you belted it to reduce the "froufrou-ness" and create a nice silhouette :) and the scarf adds a nice casual touch to the look :)

wouldn't it be amazing if sushi places open 24/7? I would definitely be their favourite customer :)

love the outfit and photography ... and your whole blog overall ! I got a similar dress from gojane and I never wear it since it's too see-through...what a waste.

Your jacket is to die for... don't get it dirty! Your white stockings complete the look. Smart move on the flats - very modest style. Love.

Did you get the dress in a S or XS. I saw one on sale in S and it looked rather big but I'm not sure how it should fit
