Last night, I joined approximately 600 of Vancouver's most stylish for Obakki's Fall/Winter 2011 fashion show. Obakki is self-described as a "Vancouver based luxury fashion brand that focuses on contemporary modern style through easy-to-wear and effortlessly cool clothing". Their first time ever public show was held at St. Andrew's-Wesley United Church in Downtown Vancouver, and it was filled with versatile, quality pieces that draped beautifully and had lovely movement. While the cuts were simple and no-fuss, the designs were infused with interesting and thoughtful details that transformed them into classic Obakki. I will let the looks speak for themselves: here are a few photos of the runway that I snapped last night.

And some lovely Vancouver bloggers that I was so fortunate to run into (many for the first time!). Left to Right: Laura Beth, Alicia, Monika, Alexandra, myself, Lisa and Mina!

P.S. Another great thing about Obakki is that it also supports humanitarian causes with their foundation, by "finding and nourishing creativity in all parts of their world". They sell pieces specially designed for this purpose. The most recent Obakki Foundation collection is based on their current cause: they visited Cameroon, Africa and asked 150 children in three orphanages what makes them sad, afraid, and happy. The designs were based off of their answers, and 100% of the proceeds from the sales of this collection go right back into it. I highly encourage you to check it out!
